“Bill Cunningham New York” Documentary & Discussion on Favoritism and Encountering Others with Curiosity and Wonder

November 2, 2011 @ 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm

What if we encountered others each day with wonder and curiosity, interested in them just because they’re human and thus valuable?  What if we were less impressed by titles, status or looks and had less favoritism?  What if we got a kick out of people’s uniqueness and didn’t expect sameness and homogeneity?

Come watch a winsome documentary about the octogenarian New York Times fashion photographer, Bill Cunningham, who truly displays those characteristics as he bicycles through Manhattan chronicling the social scene and street fashion, a beat he’s had for more than 50 years.

The film will be the jumping off point for a conversation about how we encounter strangers and what it would look like to live with less favoritism and more curiosity about others.
