Prejudice, Preconceived Notions and Foods You Love to Hate, a Feastly Dinner Party/Salon

October 5, 2012 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

We’re partnering with Feastly, an online marketplace in DC (and New York) that connects passionate cooks with hungry eaters to offer homemade meals prepared and served in a cook’s home.

We’re doing a twist on their usual events by partnering with Jessica O’Neal of JLOKitchens to do a combo salon and dinner party. We’ll be feasting on misunderstood foods, things people think they hate but just haven’t had properly cooked. And we’ll have a conversation around prejudice and preconceived notions as we eat and hang out with a cool group of people.

Jessica is a farmer’s daughter from Blenheim, South Carolina as well as a personal chef and cooking teacher. She will prepare a series of delicious dishes to reshape your opinions on some of the foods about which people have (unnecessary) prejudices. The dinner is in a private home in DC and costs $33, and we can make a vegetarian entree option available upon request. The menu includes:

  • Buttered Anchovy Toasts
  • Cilantro Lemon Roasted Chicken with Fennel Pan Gravy served with Turnip Potato Gratin and Bacon Roasted Brussels Sprouts
  • Maple Walnut Tapioca Pearl Pudding with Apple Compote

To join us around the table, please email info@eatfeastly.com  with “Spacious” in the subject line. As we have a limited number of seats, they will be offered first come, first served, and SPACIOUS subscribers and fans get a few days’ notice before it’s open to the public.

The most fun we have with SPACIOUS is meeting you in person. Come on out.
