Service Day at Samaritan Inns’ — Fence Painting
June 29, 2013 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pmFree
Samaritan Inns is a fabulous organization that serves our city of D.C. They are adding a wonderful program to their already existing services for addicted women and men, often coming from homelessness. This program will be for mothers with children, and it will be the first in the city to meet the needs of that population specifically.
Often women must forego needed addictions treatment in order to care for their children. This program will holistically address the needs of mothers and children, breaking generational cycles of poverty.
This is part of a capital campaign that includes sprucing up other facilities and increasing services.
We’ll be repairing, scraping and painting a fence at one of their locations. We’ll break mid-day for a meal (details on that to come). We will limit the chance to serve here to 20 volunteers so that we’re not tripping over each other. Please sign up by emailing Cary at firstname.lastname@example.org, and you’ll receive more information as time goes on.
Excited to serve with you in this important work that provides healing and breaks generational cycles of addiction.
